You can order your repeat prescription online by clicking on the above link.
If you are on regular long-term medication and your doctor agrees you may request a repeat prescription at the reception desk by using our ‘post-box’.
Alternatively you may send a stamped addressed envelope for the prescription to be posted to you or you may E-mail the surgery (FV-UHB.GP25012Prescriptions@nhs.net)
It takes two working days for a routine prescription to be processed. Any repeat medication that is not listed on your repeat slip is known as a special request. Such requests will take 3 working days to process. Should you wish to collect it from a pharmacy, please contact them for information on how to organise this. Some Pharmacies provide a delivery service for those who are housebound.
The Practice does not dispense prescriptions.
If you don't use it, we can't reuse it!
Wasted medicines cost NHS Forth Valley approximately £1.2milion every year. When medicines leave the pharmacy they cannot be recycled, reused by anyone else or sent abroad – those which are wasted are all destroyed.
Wasted medicines can arise when your GP changes or stops a medicine, but you can help us to reduce wasted medicines in other ways.
Before ordering your prescription have a look in your medicine cabinet to see what you have and only order the medicines you really need, and if you have stopped taking a medicine let your GP or pharmacist know.
Unused and unwanted medicines should ALWAYS be returned to the pharmacy for safe disposal. NEVER put medicines in the bin or flush them down the toilet.
To help the NHS reduce wasted medicines, ALWAYS:
THINK before you order repeat medicines
CHECK what medicine you already have - and only
ORDER what you need!
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
